Aiden Snell - 1st Year Counselor
Hello! My name is Aiden Snell. I am from Clearwater, KS, and will graduate from Clearwater High School in May. I am undecided on a college but plan to pursue a career in the medical field. I will be working with the Young Wonders along with being a ropes course facilitator this summer. I love playing and watching sports, especially football and basketball. This will be my 9th summer at Camp Horizon but my first on staff and I couldn’t be more excited!
Bailey Talbott - 3rd Year Counselor
Hey! My name is Bailey Talbott! I am finishing up my junior year at Kansas State University (GO CATS!), I am majoring in elementary education with a focus in special education. This will be my third summer as a camp counselor, you can find me lifeguarding and in the mudpit! I love all things hiking, reading, Taylor Swift, K-state, and overall camp!
Brady Ollenburger -2nd Year Counselor
Hello, I’m Brady Ollenburger! I’m currently wrapping up my freshman year at THE Kansas State University studying electrical engineering. At K-State I’m involved in Campus Ministry, several engineering clubs, attend every possible K-State game, and work as an intern at First UMC in Manhattan! This will be my 10th summer at camp and my 2nd summer as a camp counselor! I’m super excited to be the drummer in the praise team, be in the mudpit, and help others to grow in their faith! I can’t wait for another amazing summer!
Emma Rosenberger - 1st Year Counselor
Hiii!! I am Emma Rosenberger. I am currently studying Physical Therapy at Hutchinson Community College. I enjoy quality time with those that I love and road trips to experience new things!! I will enjoy my time as a lifeguard this summer and I am so excited to spend my summer with Junior High girls all summer long!!
Gavin Pickney - 1st Year Counselor
My name is Gavin Pickney. I will be graduating in May from Hesston High School. This will be my 10th year at Camp Horizon. I stayed as a camper for 7 years, the last 2 years I volunteered as a JC, and this year will be my first as a counselor. I'm really looking forward to spending my summer at Camp Horizon and serving God while helping others.
Hallie Spieckermann - 1st Year Counselor
Hi! My name is Hallie Spieckermann, and I’m from Wichita, KS. I’m currently a senior at Maize South High School. Next year I’ll be going to Wichita State for Early Childhood. I love reading and doing choir/theater at school. I can’t wait to spend the summer with all of the kids, as well as lifeguarding!
Jenna Richardson - 2nd Year Counselor
Hi! I’m Jenna Richardson. I am completing my Sophomore year at Fort Scott Community College and am currently studying Agribusiness. This is my eighth year at camp and my second year as a counselor. Some of my favorite things are hiking, making friendship bracelets, hanging out with cattle, and going on Sonic drink runs. I am so excited to see everyone at camp this summer and grow in faith together!
Joseph Kasongo - 1st Year Counselor
Hello! I am Joseph Kasongo. I am completing my Sophomore Year at Southwestern College. I am studying Computer Science and Digital Arts with a minor in Discipleship. I grew up in the city of Lubumbashi, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. I like to play or watch both soccer and basketball, and really like to sing and listen to good music. I am excited to be at Camp Horizon this summer.
Josh Day - 3rd Year Counselor
Hey guys! My name is Josh Day and I am graduating from Southwestern College (GO BUILDERS!!!!) this May. I will be a life guard, ropes facilitator, as well as the sound guy at camp this summer. I am excited to get to work with the new rope course this summer and can’t wait to see you guys!
Marissa Orem - 2nd Year Counselor
Hi!!! My name is Marissa Orem, I am currently a junior at Sterling College and my major is Christian Thought! I live in Hutchinson, Ks and work full-time. In my free time I like to read, go shopping, go out to eat, and sometimes run. This will be my second year on staff at Camp Horizon and I cannot wait for another great summer!
Sam Kurniadi - Health Aide
Hi! I’m Sam Kurniadi, I grew up in Wichita, KS but I’m currently a Pre-Nursing student at KU (Rock Chalk!!). This summer I will be the Health Aide but you’ll also see me lifeguarding at the pool and around camp. I love music, science, anything crafty, and I’m a huge book nerd! I’m super excited to see everyone at camp this summer!
Sara Smith - 1st Year Counselor
Hey! My name is Sara Smith. I am from Haysville Ks, I will graduate from Campus High School this May. I plan to attend Southwestern College next year, to major in elementary education. I will be working with 3/4 grade. This will be my 9th summer at Camp Horizon but first on staff and I can't wait for summer!! I enjoy reading, baking, making friendship bracelets, and crafts!!
Sarah Bagnati - 1st Year Counselor
Hi! I am Sarah Bagnati. I am completing my Junior Year at Southwestern COllege. I am studying Biology and am very involved in the discipleship program and the Worship outreach program. I grew up in Bridgeton NJ and love soccer, singing, playing instruments, and hanging out with my family. I am excited to work with the youth this summer helping them grow their relationship with the Lord.
Tess Bennett - 2nd Year Counselor
Hello everyone, my name is Tess Bennett! I am completing my sophomore year at Kansas State University. I am studying Theatre with a minor in Children in Group Settings. This is my second year on staff, and I have been going to camp since 2011! I will be on praise team again, and adventuring with the campers on hikes :) I also hope to do some occasional improv/theatre activities because I am apart of K-State’s improv group “On The Spot”,and K-State theatre. I could not be more thrilled to be coming back to camp, and I’m just so excited to have the privilege to meet and know all the wonderful campers while spreading and sharing God’s love!
