Things Camp Counselors Can Do That Parents Struggle With

From My Heart to Yours,

I was looking at pictures from last summer. And I found one of my daughter with her camp counselor. There was really nothing special about the photo but it got me thinking about what my daughter’s camper experience was like. And for my daughter, this specific camp counselor was like a superhero. If her counselor asked her to do it, she would. She did things that I have been begging her to do for years. Like, go to bed on her own. This got me thinking about all the ways that Camp Counselors are like magicians for our children. They really can get our kids to do things that we beg them to do, like:

  1. Sleep On Their Own

  2. Try New Things

  3. Eat Their Dinner

  4. Pick up after themselves

  5. Shower

  6. Get messy

  7. Not need screens to have a good time

  8. Read the Bible

  9. Talk about what is going on in their lives

  10. Smile

We work hard to hire the best counselors for your campers! When you sign your kids up to come to Camp Horizon, you are sending them to counselors who care about them as individuals and will work really hard to help your camper spread their wings and be the best version of themselves. I can see it in my daughter, and have watched it for so many others! A week of camp is good for our kids!
